SHADOW MASK FOR COLOR PICTURE TUBE

PURPOSE:To make it possible to fix a shaped mask to a frame without causing any stress on its curved surface by providing plural protrusions to give the shaped mask support reference points on the edge face of the frame on the shaped mask side and by forming inwardly protruding points on the skirt of the shaped mask so that they will touch the frame. CONSTITUTION:A skirt 11a of a shaped mask 11 has an inwardly protruding point 11b. On the edge face of a frame 12 on the shaped mask side, four protrusions 12a, each having a semicircular tip, are formed on the longer sides near the corners of the frame 12. In this way, when the shaped mask is only fitted in the frame, the protrusion 11b touches the outside wall of the frame 12, and thus the horizontal position is maintained; and a portion of the shaped mask 11 corresponding to the protrusion 12a of the frame 12 is softly pushed by a pusher 15 through a spring 14, and thus the shaped mask 11 is maintained in its vertical position with respect to the frame 12. When the protrusion 11b is spot-welded to the frame 12, the applied pressure from the spot-welding causes no stress on the shaped mask.
