STEERING LOCK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To facilitate starting operation, by making an ignition switch turnable from an on-position to a start position automatically in time of a starting failure at engine starting, in case of a device which makes a steering lock releasable or lockable without a key. CONSTITUTION:A device bearing the above caption rotates and controls a pulse motor 12 via a control unit 29 on the basis of signals to be inputted according to operation on plural pushbutton switches in an input device 20, and shiftfs a locking rod of a steering lock to a releasing or locking position by the said motor 12. And, simultaneously it turns an ignition switch 24 round to a lock position, an ACC position and an on-position or a start position. In this case, in time of turning the said switch 14 round to a starter position and driving a starter motor, when engine operation is not detected out of the output of an engine sensor 21 even after the elapse of the specified time, the said switch 14 is constituted so as to make it rotable to the start position again after it put back in the on-position.
