Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a substance 15B2 for inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes, by cultivating a microorganism belonging to actinomyces. CONSTITUTION:An actinomyces No.937ZE-1 strain (FERM-P No.7l32) separated newly from soil is capable of producing a substance 15B1 inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes is newly found to produce further a substance 15B2 inhibiting angiotensin I converting enzymes. The physico-chemical properties of the substance are as follows; Constituent substances; Tyrosine and substances, positive to ninhydrin, having an area ratio of about twice that of the tyrosine measured by an amino acid analyzer, and contained in a hydrolyzate obtained by hydrolyzing the substance 15B2 at 110 deg.C for 20hr in 6N hydrochloric acid. Melting point; Showing no melting point up to 300 deg.C. Solubility, Readily soluble in aqueous solutions of alkalis, sparingly soluble in water and methanol and insoluble in ether, acetone and n-hexane. Color reactions; Positive to the iodine reaction and ferric chloride reaction and negative to ninhydrin and alpha-naphtholsulfuric acid reaction.
