SYNCHRONOUS GENERATOR

PURPOSE:To reduce the thickness of a synchronous generator by opposing a stator and a rotor axially through an air gap, and radially winding a stator winding and a field winding. CONSTITUTION:Rotors 2, 3 are provided at both sides of a stator 1 so that the poles are opposed axially with the stator 1 through the prescribed air gap. Then, an output winding 9 is wound on the stator 1 around a core 8 radially at upper and lower symmetrical positions of a stator mounting base 7. Further, an exciting winding 11 is wound radially around a core 10 in the phase difference of 90 deg. with the winding 9 at the right and left symmetrical positions of the base 7. When thus constructed, the entirety can be reduced in the thickness, size and weight.
