Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain the titled Al alloy by specifying a composition consisting of Si, Cu, Mg, Mn, Zn, Pb, Sn and Al. CONSTITUTION:This Al alloy having superior wear resistance and machinability consists of, by weight, 7-10% Si, 1-3% Cu, 0.5-2.0% Mg, 0.2-1.4% Mn, 0.02- 0.3% Zn, 0.15-0.9% Pb, 0.15-1.2% Sn and the balance Al with impurities. The alloy is suitable for use as a material for a VTR cylinder or the like requiring high quality and accuracy. A molten Al alloy having said composition is cast into an ingot after removing fine oxides by filtration, and the ingot is homogenized at about 400-480 deg.C for about 2-8hr and hot extruded at about 350-480 deg.C and >= about 75% rate or further drawn and softened. Shaping is carried out by hot or cold forging, prescribed strength is provided by hardening and tempering, and said Al alloy is obtd. by finishing work.
