DATA BASE PROCESSING SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To reduce the number of times of address conversion to convert retrieval processing to the vector by performing collectively address conversion of plural records and using results to develop the record group to a vector format. CONSTITUTION:A data base processing program DBP102 is stored in a main storage 101, and a work area 106 and an I/O buffer area 401 for data base processings are secured in the main storage 101. The DBP102 consists of a vector developing part 103, a retrieval processing control part 104, and a vector processing part 105. A data base 109 is stored in a secondary storage 108, and a central processing unit 110 is a vector computer device which can process scalar instructions as well as vector instructions. The data base 109 consists of a table and an index, and they are divided to units called page and are stored in the secondary storage 108.
