It has flat photo-sensitivity within the wavelength range from visible region to near infrared region, and is useful as an optical recording medium for semiconductor laser printer, laser disk, etc. and as an organic solar battery, etc. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting 3,4-dihydroxy-3-cyclobutene-1,2-dione of formula II with the aniline derivative of formula IIIin a solvent such as n-butanol at 120-140 deg.C for 3-5hr.
