THERMAL RECORDING MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material free of ground fogging and having favorable preservability such as water resistance and oil resistance, comprising a colorless or light-colored dye precursor and an aralkyl gallate as a developer for developing the color of the dye precursor when being heated. CONSTITUTION:A coating liquid obtained by dispersing (A) an aralkyl gallate, preferably, benzyl gallate, and (B) a normally colorless or light-colored dye precursor, e.g., 3-diethylamino-7-methylfluoran, into (C) a binder, e.g., PVA, then mixing the resultant dispersions and adding (D) other additives, e.g., calcium carbonate, and optionally (E) a sensitivity-enhancing agent or the like to the mixture, is applied to a paper having a basis weight of, e.g., 50g/m , in an amount after drying of 4.5g/m to obtain the objective thermal recording material. EFFECT:Free of ground fogging due to lamination on a diazo copying paper.
