VEHICLE BODY

PURPOSE:To increase an effectively usable area in a passenger's compartment, by extendably and storably providing an extension chamber extending from the lateral surface of a vehicle so that a part of the passenger's compartment may be enlarged upon business being initiated after arrival at a destination. CONSTITUTION:In a storing condition, a first arm 31 is retracted as indicated by the chain line A, and is stored in each side surface of an extension chamber 5. Upon extension a hydraulic unit 14 is operated to extend a cylinder 15 so that the extension chamber 5 is pushed out forward. The first arm 31 in a suspension unit 11 is held at its one end to a vehicle body 1 by means of a first support shaft. When the cylinder 1 is further extended, the first arm 31 is extended so that the front end of the arm 31 suspends a second support shaft 21, and second and third arms 32, 33 are to pull up a front wall 7 and a support column 17 through fourth and fifth support shafts 22, 24. Since the second arm 32 is supported by both first and second arms 31, 33, the extension chamber 5 is stably held with its entirety in both lateral and vertical directions.
