Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To eliminate variance of a drop position by detecting the light, which is transmitted through a slit of a slit plate moved together with a tone arm, with a photointerrupter and controlling the velocity of the tone arm in accordance with the output to stop and drop the arm smoothly. CONSTITUTION:When a slit plate 2 attached to a tone arm 1 is moved to the position of a photointerrupter 4 in accordance with movement of the tone arm 1, the light transmitted through the slit is detected by the photointerrupter 4, and the velocity of the tone arm 1 is switched from a high value to a low value through a control circuit 5, and the arm 1 is stopped smoothly and is dropped. Consequently, variance of the drop position is eliminated.
