Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain a product under mild conditions in the titled method for producing the needlelike particles containing iron carbide by bringing needlelike iron oxyhydroxide or needlelike iron oxide into contact with CO or a mixture of CO with H2, by specifying the contact temperature range. CONSTITUTION:Needlelike iron oxyhydroxide or needlelike iron oxide is brought into contact with CO or a mixture of CO with H2 at 250-300 deg.C. The suitable contact temperature has been about 300-400 deg.C, but the above-mentioned method provides the aimed needlelike particles containing iron carbide under mild conditions. The method has great industrial advantages.
