Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the thickness of a carriage linear motor and to enhance the performance of the motor by integrating a carriage and a linear motor. CONSTITUTION:A U-shaped yoke 10 is mechanically and magnetically coupled with a central yoke 9 at the center 9a. A carriage body 1 is supported by a pair of guide bars 2, 3, and freely moved in a moving direction 20. A magnetic scale 11 and an axial fluctuation preventive plate 19 are provided on both side surfaces of the body 1. A magnetic head 4 is secured to the body 1, and a hollow projection 5 is formed integrally with the carriage in opposite direction to the head, and a drive coil 5a is suitably wound on the end of the projection.
