Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To permit to shorten the time of cremation and collect ashes of a body in near the original form of the corpse by a method wherein the grate in a cremation chamber is constituted of a plurality of supporting columns, supporting beams and joints while the grate is constituted so as to be separated into pieces when an objective temperature is exceeded. CONSTITUTION:The supporting columns 11 and beams 12 are consisting of a plurality of elements 14 and are provided with protuberances 14B at one side and connecting holes 14C for inserting beighboring protuberances 14B at the opposite sides. Joints 13 are provided with the protuberances 14B, the protuberances 13B, inserted into the connecting holes 14C and the connecting holes 13C on the upper and lower sides as well as the side surfaces thereof. The joints 13 and the elements 14, 16 are made of composite material obtained by sintering the powders of alumina, copper or the like while the supporting columns 11 and the supporting beams 12 maintain the structure of the grate even when the grate is deformed by the weight of the corpse when it is cremated. When the corpse starts burning, a temperature in the furnace is increased, the joints 13 or the elements 14, 15 are collapsed due to melting or cracking and the corpse may be burnt until it leaves only the ashes thereof.
