CLEANING METHOD FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC COPYING MACHINE BY MAGNETIC BRUSH CLEANING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To improve the cleaning capacity to obtain pictures without photographic fog and dirt of texture by providing a cleaning roll having a fixed magnet internally so that the roll faces the surface of a photosensitive body and storing a cleaning agent and circulating the cleaning agent simultaneously with rotation of the photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:If the toner density in the cleaning agent is raised to make cleaning impossible in a magnetic brush cleaning device, a power source is turned on though a remaining toner on the photosensitive body is eliminated, and the cleaning agent is circulated while rotating the photosensitive body. The toner in the cleaning agent is recovered by a toner recovering roll to reduce the toner density in the cleaning agent. The photosensitive body is rotated at this time, and therefore, it is not damaged. A density sensor 11 is provided in a cleaning agent circulating path; and when rise of the toner density in the cleaning agent and abnormal reduction of the quantity of electrostatic charge of the toner are detected, copying is interruped temporarily to reduce the toner density to a normal value.
