PURPOSE:To obtain the automatic exposure device for both shutter priority and aperture priority by selectively controlling the inputting of the light response signal and reference signal to PLL circuits for calculating aperture value and shutter second time. CONSTITUTION:The light response signal is detected by the phase detector 31 which is synchronously controlled by the voltage control oscillator 34 and divider 35 of a PLL3 and a capacitor C1 is charged according to the aperture value by the direct current voltage of the PLL3 corresponding to the photometry, by which the current supply time to an aperture magnet is controlled. Similarly, a capacitor C2 is charged by way of a PLL6 by the reference signal from a reference signal generator 2 and the shutter second time is set by the period of the pulses corresponding to the frequency dividing state selected by the divider 65 by this discharge electrode, whereby the automatic exposure controlling of shutter second time priority is accomplished. If the switches S1, S2 are changed over, the automatic exposure controlling of aperture priority is similarly accomplished.
