Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To aim at reduction in discharge resistance of a refrigerant gas and improvement in separating efficiency of oil, by designing to form a vortex flow of the refrigerant gas discharged from a discharge chamber to a separator along a circle about a drive shaft of a rotor. CONSTITUTION:An oil separator 12 is in the form of short cylinder by a disc portion 18a and an upright peripheral wall portion 18b surrounding a peripheral portion of the disc portion 18a to define a space as a vortex chamber 18. Induction passages 19 are extended arcuately more gentle than the peripheral wall portion 18b in the same circular direction at angles of about 180 deg. from the peripheral wall portion 18b, so as to be communicated with the vortex chamber 18. Each end of the induction passages 19 is communicated with discharge ports 11. With this arrangement, it is possible to form a vortex flow of a refrigerant gas discharged into the separator 12 along a circle about a drive shaft of a rotor in the separator 12, thereby reducing discharge resistance of the refrigerant gas and improving separation effect of oil.
