Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:A disoxidant for producing easily an anaerobic atmosphere with a carbonic acid gas atmosphere of a constant concentration, consisting of ascorbic acid or its slat, two or more alkaline compounds and a metal salt. CONSTITUTION:A disoxidant consisting of ascorbic acid or its salt, a carbonate containing at least water of crystallization and an alkaline compound (e.g., Na2CO3.10H2O, KHCO3) containing an alkaline hydrogencarbonate and a metal compound (e.g., ferrous sulfate.7 hydrate). The amount of the alkaline compound is about 30-400wt% based on ascorbic acid or its salt. This disoxidant absorbs and removes molecular oxygen in a closed system within 6hr by a chemical reaction, evolvs simultaneously carbonic acid gas, attains an atmosphere with a proper carbonic acid gas concentration depending upon kinds of anaerobic bacteria, and it can be maintained in the same state.
