Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To decrease the deterioration and increase the life of a carbon plastic electrode by adding an organic peroxide to mixture consisting of a polyolefin- system resin and carbon black to prepare a composition, then heating and pressing the composition to form bridge structure. CONSTITUTION:Polyethylene, a polyolefin-system resin, is blended with carbon black so that its content is 10-60wt% of the mixture before it is kneaded in a Bumbury's mixer. Next, dicuminyl peroxide, an organic peroxide, is added to the mixture before the mixture is kneaded at the critical decomposition point higher than kneading temperature. After that, thus kneaded mixture is pressed under specific temperature and pressure to form a sheet containing bridge structure, thereby making a carbon plastic electrode for a zinc halogen battery or the like. As a result, successive changes in the tensile strength, the vlume resistivity and the weight of the electrode caused after it is immersed in a liquid containing a hydrogen halide for a long time can be minimized. Consequently, the life of the battery can be extended by preventing any deterioration of the electrode.
