Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain powder for a plastic magnet having high resistance to oxidation by hydrolyzing alkoxide of Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Sn, Ni applied on the surface of the rare earth magnetic powder. CONSTITUTION:Alkoxide of >=1 kinds metals among Al, Si, Ti, Zr, Sn, Ni is dissolved and a solvent inert to rare earth magnetic powder is selected. A soln. dissolved with the above-mentioned metallic alkoxide in said solvent is prepd. Rare earth magnetic powder is wetted in such solvent to apply the metallic alkoxide on the surface of the powder. A slight amt. of water is brought into contact gradually with the surface thereof, and the metallic alkoxide is gradually hydrolyzed and condensated to form a high molecular compound having the three-dimensional network structure approximate to a metallic oxide. The rare earth magnetic powder coated with the completely or incompletely hydrolyzed and condensated matter of the metallic alkoxide is obtd.
