Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To enable a battery having an excellent discharge characteristic to be provided by enabling plate groups to be completely homogeneously wound by winding a positive and a negative plate and separators interposed between these plates around wound cores comprising a pair of asymmetric split take-up pins. CONSTITUTION:Plate groups 1 and 2 are wound around wound cores 4 comprising a pair of asymmetric split take-up pins, so that no stage difference is caused between the plate and a separator 3 at the initial end (A). As a result, a spiral electrode body in which the plate groups 1 and 2 are homogeneously wound can be obtained.
