Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve the traveling stability of a tape by providing a loading mechanism to reduce the winding angle to each guide and the length of the tape traveling path reaching a capstan from the outlet side of a rotary cylinder. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic tape 4 is loaded, a tension pin 15 is first turned in a route (c) to draw the tape 4 out of a cassette 3. Then a slide base 22 at the inlet side hooks the tape 4 and at the same time moves along a route (a) to be held at a prescribed position near a rotary cylinder 2. In addition, a wind pin 24 moves up to a middle place along the route (a) and then along a route (b) and is positioned at a prescribed position where the winding angle of the tape 4 is decided to an erasing head 13. The course of the route (a) up to the branch to the route (b) is formed by the 1st guide means; while the route (b) is formed by the 2nd guide means. Then the route (a) ranging from the branch through the end of loading of the base 22 is formed by the 3rd guide means. The above-mentioned procedure is reversed to unload the tape 4.
