Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To perform highly accurate calibration in a short time, in a tandem rolling mill, by compressing a steel strip by the roll in a front stage stand of a tension meter, fixing the steel strip, releasing the compression by the roll in the rear stage stand, thereby performing the calibration. CONSTITUTION:A tension meter 1, which is provided between a stand Fn and a stand Fn+1 is calibrated. Based on the input of a CAL signal (m) from a control operator 3, a compressing command (r) is outputted so that the compression is applied to the stand Fn, in order to fix a steel strip that is a material to be measured. The command (r) makes a roll Rn to be compressed through a compressing device Sn 5, and the steel strip is fixed. Meanwhile, tensile strength to be applied to the steel strip is applied by a reel motor. The stand Fn+1 is under the released state. The device 3 imparts an input (a) to a tensile strength operator 2 when an error is present between the tensile strength and the output value of the tensile strength of the tension meter 1, and performs the calibration. Therefore, the stopping time of the rolling mill is very short, and the highly accurate calibration can be performed.
