ROTARY HEAD TYPE MAGNETIC RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To attain DTF operation allowed to follow also the bend of a recording track by using one fixed head and plural heads mounted on two movable plates and controlling the relative and absolute height of the two recording heads automatically. CONSTITUTION:A head A is fixed to a cylinder 1. Heads A', B are mounted on the movable plate 4 composed of a piezoelectric element or the like and a head B' is also mounted on the movable plate 4. When recording tracks A1, B1, A2,... are successively formed by the heads A, B, a pilot signal with low frequency is recorded in instantaneous periods (almost corresponding to one horizontal scanning period of a TV signal), and immediately after the recording, instantaneously reproducing periods R1, R2, R3 are formed. Between the adjacent tracks, an instantaneous reproducing period R2 for the pilot recording period W1 is formed in parallel with said periods. Therefore, the pilot recorded in the timing shown in the figure (a) is reproduced by the timing shown in the figure (b) with regard to the previously recorded pilot signal as a crosstalk to obtain a signal shown in the figure (b). The height of the head B is controlled to make the height of both heads coincide with each other so that the reproducing pilot signals inputted alternately from the heads A, B are made coincide with each other.
