Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain the (+)- or (-)-isomer of the titled substance, by reacting the substance with (+)- or (-)-alpha-phenyl-beta-(p-tolyl)ethylamine having high optical purity to crystallize (+)-(+) salt or (-)-(-) salt, and decomposing the obtained salt. CONSTITUTION:(A) alpha-isopropyl-p-chlorophenylacetic acid is made to react with (B) (+)- or (-)alpha-phenyl-beta-(p-tolyl)ethylamine having an optical purity of >=95% (preferably >=97%) at a molar ratio of 1:(0.6-0.8) to effect the selective crystallization of the (+)A-(+)B salt or (-)A-(-)B salt. The salt is separated and decomposed with an acid or alkali to obtain the objective (+)A to (-)A. When the system is temporally heated at 40-150 deg.C during or after the reaction, the optical purity of (+)A can be further improved.
