WORK ROLL CHOCK OF ROLL CROSS ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To reduce the resistance on contact surfaces and to decrease the operating force during roll crossing by disposing a rolling body in the contact part between the sepn. type work roll chocks and cylinder rods of a roll cross rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:A rolling body 22 is disposed in the contact part between rods 11, 12, 15, 16 of cylinders built in cylinder blocks 2, 3, 4 of a housing 1 and upper and lower work roll chocks 14, 15, to decrease the resistance in the contact surfaces between the rods 11, 12, 15, 16 and the chocks 10, 14 during tilting of the work rolls so that the damage of the contact surfaces is decreased. The bend and twist of the rods acting on the work rolls during tilting of said rolls are decreased to reduce the damage in the packings of the cylinders and to decrease the operating force of the roll crossing on the chocks 10, 14.
