STERILIZABLE AIR FILTER MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive sterilizable air filter without necessitating no special equipment, by adhering a sterilizing fine powder to at least one surface of an air filter material. CONSTITUTION:A sterilizing metal such as copper or silver or salts thereof are adhered to a porous carrier such as a molecular sieve, a silica gel, alumina or urethane foam and the supported carrier is comminuted by a proper method to obtain a sterilizing fine powder. Thus obtained sterilizing powder is adhered to an air filter material by a wet method or a dry method. When the sterilizing fine powder is adhered to the air filter material, a sticking agent or an adhesive is adhered thereto according to necessity to prevent the separation of the sterilizing fine powder due to shock or contact with other substances. The kind of the air filter material is not limited.
