Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:A reaction carrier, obtained by coating the surface of a hydrophilic gel matrix entrapping an interactive composition mateial with a semipermeable membrane having specific properties, useful as carriers in artificial internal organs, etc., and causing little deterioration in activity by repeated use thereof. CONSTITUTION:A reaction carrier obtained by entrapping an interactive composition material, e.g. an enzyme, coenyme or microbial cell, capable of causing the interaction with a specific compound in a fluid, and forming a decomposition product or product in a hydrophilic gel matrix consisting essentially of a hydrophilic gel, e.g. collagen, glucomannan or kappa-karrageenan, and coating the surface of the resultant hydrophilic gel matrix with a semipermeable membrane capable of permeating at least the specific compound in the fluid and the decomposition product or product formed from the interaction but not permeating the interactive composition material. A polyamide or polyurea, etc. may be suitably used as the material for the semipermeable membrane.
