Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To decrease the variance in the temp. of an aluminum blank pipe by subjecting the surface of a mandrel for holding the aluminum blank pipe to a process for improving emissivity so that the transfer of heat to the aluminum blank pipe is effected easily. CONSTITUTION:A mandrel which is subjected to a process for the purpose of improving emissivity on the surface is used as a mandrel 1 for holding an aluminum blank pipe 2 having a photosensitive layer to be used for a high-speed non- impact printer or an electrostatic type copying machine for plain paper. Selenium or a selenium alloy is deposited by evaporation on the pipe 2 which is inserted and held in the mandrel 1 and is heated through the mandrel 1. The surface of the mandrel 1 is preferably colored to a blackish color in order to improve the emissivity. The improvement in the emissivity is accomplished by roughening the surface of the mandrel 1 to 1-10mum or by grooving 1a the surface of the mandrel.
