DOT PRINTER

PURPOSE:To obtain a dot printer capable of performing stable and high-quality printing all the time and also of completely discovering defective printings by using a system in which printing conditions are judged from traces of print on a printing medium by trial strinking of dot pins. CONSTITUTION:Just before printing normal characters in the printing region of a printing medium, trial striking od dot pins is made by driving the dot pins with a drive force enough to print the printing medium. It is detected whether or not printing is actually made from the traces of print on the printing medium by the trial strinking of dot pins. When printing is actually made, the printing of normal characters is allowed. Before printing normal characters, ink particles and paper dust adhered to the guide of dot pins can be removed out.
