RUST PREVENTIVE PAINTING METHOD OF AUTOMOTIVE BODY

PURPOSE:To prevent generation of a level difference and to provide a beautiful finish economically in the stage of subjecting the underpart of an automotive body to rust preventive painting by powder electrodeposition, by applying turbulent flow to the draft line position of the automotive body. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of spray nozzles are provided near the draft line of an automotive body and circulating flow or a soln. is ejected toward the side face of an automotive body to apply the turbulent flow to the draft position of the body in the dipping stage of the underpart into a powder electrodeposition painting bath and painting said parts. The flow rate of the turbulent flow is maintained at about 3, more preferably >=5m/sec at the contact point with the body. The ratio between the powder/binder during painting in the position receiving the turbulent flow decreases to about 0.5/1-2.8/1, whereby the level difference between the powder electrodeposition coated film and the adjacent electrodeposition coated film is eliminated and the beautifulness of the finish painting is maintained.
