Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To obtain an instantaneous-emission fluorescent tube which can be satisfactorily used at low temperature of around -20 deg.C by layering a surface- like heating unit on the outer surface of the fluorescent tube. CONSTITUTION:A surface-like heating unit prepared by use of a surface-like resistor consisting of a conductive thin film is installed in belt-like form parallel to a fluorescent tube at a given position on the outer surface of the tube. After that, the heating unit is subjected to shrinkage package by providing a thermocontractile film over the outer surface of the tube. As a result, an emissional luminance obtained at ordinary temperature can be achieved within a few minutes or one minute at low temperatures of around -20 deg.C even in a cold-cathode fluorescent tube having a poor luminescent characteristic by thus layering the surface-like heating unit having a proper heating density on the fluorescent tube and heating it by current feeding. In addition, an emissional luminance obtained at ordinary temperature can be achieved as soon as lighting of the fluorescent tube is performed by feeding current to the heating unit beforehand.
