Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To maintain stable desulfurization effect even if the operational condition of a dryer is varied, by forming a fluidized layer of suspendened fine powder of granulated shaft furnace slag in the barrel part with a large sectional area provided to the duct between the dryer and a dust collector. CONSTITUTION:To the duct line 6 between the outlet of a dryer 3 for drying granulated shaft furnace slag and the inlet of a dust collector 5, a barrel part 4 having a sectional area large than that of the duct line 6 is provided. Combustion gas generated by burning coal or the like in a hot blast stove 1 is sent to the dryer 3 and directly brought into cntact with wet granulated slag supplied from a supply port 10 to dry said slag. The dry waste gas accompanying the granulated slag fine powder discharged from the dryer 3 eneters the barrel part 4. The granulated slag fine powder accompained by the dry waste gas forms a fluidizied lyaer and is stayed in the barrel part 4 and the sufficient contact time with the dry waste gas is secured and SOx in the waste gas is adsorbed and removed. The dry waste gas after desulfurization is discharged to the outside through the dust collector 5.
