Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To provide the titled film having a film density and a heat shrinkage higher than respective specific values, and free from oligomer deposition. CONSTITUTION:A polyethylene terephthalate homopolymer or a copolymerized polyethylene terephthalate is extruded to the surface of a chill roll to obtain an undrawn polyethylene terephthalate film. The film is drawn about 2.5-6.0 times along at least one direction to raise the film density to >=1.399g/cm (preferably 1.404g/cm ), and at the last stage of the heat-setting stage, the longitudinal take- up speed of the film is somewhat increased to elongate the film by about =2.0% (preferably >=2.5%) at longitudinal and/or lateral directions when measured at 150 deg.C after 30min can be manufactured by this process.
