STIRLING ENGINE

PURPOSE:To obtain a compact Stirling engine with high efficiency and low vibration by allowing a free displacer piston to be interlocked by using the variable pressure in the buffer space in a power piston. CONSTITUTION:The cylinder 1 in which working gas is sealed is partitioned by a heat insulating plate 2, and one chamber 3 is partitioned into an expansion space 8 and a buffer space 16 by a displacer piston 5, and another chamber 4 is partitioned into a compression space 14 and a buffer space 17 by a power piston 6, and both buffer spaces 16 and 17 are connected through a communication passage 15. The displacer piston 5 which operates to introduce working gas alternately into the expansion space and the compression space is certainly operated by applying, into the buffer space 16 of the above-described displacer piston 5, the variable pressure in the buffer space 17 of the power piston 6. Further, the above-described piston 6 is connected to a crankshaft 22.
