DETECTOR FOR ROLL POSITION OF CROSS ROLLING MILL

PURPOSE:To provide a titled device which detects exactly roll positions irrespectively of impact and oscillation by pressing a piston rod provided with an electrical signal transducer to each roll chock. CONSTITUTION:A piston rod 22 is pressed to a cylinder 23c by the oil pressure of a double acting cylinder 23a and a reference position is detected with an electrical signal element 21. The tip end of the rod 22 is pressed to the roll chock by the oil pressure in a reverse direction and the position thereof is detected, by which a displacement is known. Cylinder bodies 23a, 23c which are assembled in one body are fitted in a housing 8a by means of a guide member 24 and are held energized by an elastic member 33 via a roll 25 and a laver 32, by which oscillation and impact are absorbed. It is also possible to open and remove the roll 25. A cross point and cross angle are always exactly corrected by using the value detected with the element 21, by which a sheet material having good quality is manufactured.
