EXAMPLE:N-[2-Hydroxy-3-{4-(2-pyridyl)piperazin-1-yl}propyl]cis-cyclohe x-4-ene-1, 2- dicarboxyimide. USE:Remedy for diabetes. PROCESS:A compound of formula I wherein Z is H can be prepared by reacting the compound of formula VII with the compound of formula VIII in an inert solvent such as lower alcohol. The product can be converted to another compound of formula I by reacting with the corresponding carboxylic acid of formula RCOOH or its reactive derivative.
