Zusammenfassung:PURPOSE:To improve a reproduction SN ratio by a method wherein a heat treatment at the temperature in the neighborhood of Curie point is performed on the magneto-optical thin film provided on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A GdTbTe thin film of 200Angstrom in thickness is provided on a glass substrate 1, an Al thin film of 200Angstrom in thickness is formed thereon as a reflection film which performs an additional function as an oxidization-preventing film, and then a heat treatment is performed at 150 deg.C. The reproduction SN ratio can be improved by 5dB by performing a heat treatment for five hours or thereabout at the temperature in the neighborhood of Curie point.
