SEAL DEVICE OF NOZZLE DIAPHRAGM

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a device and facilitate its assembly work further extremely decrease a leakage amount of steam, by mounting ring shaped wire nets on the internal peripheral part of a nozzle diaphragm and bringing said wire net in direct contact with a rotor. CONSTITUTION:A nozzle diaphragm 4 is formed such that the internal diameter of a part opposite to the shaft face of a rotor 3 is slightly larger, and two sheets of ring shaped wire nets 8 are tightened by bolts 9 to a part 7 corresponding to the part for a conventional labyrinth packing, then the internal peripheral face of the wire net 8 is brought in direct contact with the rotor 3. A clearance between the rotor and a strip is not provided like in the conventional case, and a leak of steam, being generated from a very small gap of the wire net, is decreased to an extremely small amount, accordingly a quantity of the steam used for the generation of power is increased and internal efficiency is improved.
