Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:To raise the durability of a fender by a method in which a bar material is buried along the side edge of an impact-receiving portion of the fender provided with an impact-receiving plate and the bar material and the impact- receiving plate are connected with a connection member. CONSTITUTION:When a fender-compressing load is applied to the impact-receiving plate 2 of a fender 1, the supporting portion 5 is bent into a twofold form, a downward bending moment M is acted on the impact-receiving portion 3, and the impact-receiving portion 3 is deformed into a recessed form. Accordingly, the durability of the fender is raised because no concentrated stress is generated at the top 6 of the supporting portion 5, stress is generated even in the impact- receiving portion 3, and the fender-compressing load is buffered by the supporting portion 5 and the whole of the impact-receiving portion 3.
