OIL-IN-WATER TYPE EMULSIFIED COMPOSITION FOR EXTERNAL SKIN USE

PURPOSE:The titled composition, prepared by incorporating an aqueous solution containing a polysaccharide, caseinate and polyhydroxy compound with an oily substance or further water, and having stability without irritation to the skin in the form of a cosmetic, hydrophilic ointment, etc. having improved luster. CONSTITUTION:An oil-in-water type composition, prepared by incorporating and emulsifying a system consisting of (A) 0.01-1.5wt% polysaccharide, (B) 0.1- 8.0wt% caseinate and (C) 1.0-30.0wt%, expressed in terms of on the anhydrous substance, polyhydroxy compound and 3.0-40.0wt% water with an oily substance or further water. A water-soluble polysaccharide, e.g. polysaccharide produced by microorganisms, seed polysaccharide, or seaweed polysaccharide is used as the polysaccharide, and sodium caseinate, calcium caseinate or triethanolamine caseinate, etc. is used as the component (B). An alkylene glycol, glycerol polyalkylene oxide, sugar alcohol, saccharide or a derivative thereof, etc. is used as the component (C).
