OIL-IN-WATER TYPE EMULSIFIED COMPOSITION FOR EXTERNAL SKIN USE

PURPOSE:A composition, prepared by incorporating an aqueous solution containing a polysaccharide, sucrose ester of a fatty acid and polyhydroxy compound with an oily substance or further with water, and having improved stability without irritation to the skin in the form of a cosmetic or hydrophilic ointment, etc. having improved luster. CONSTITUTION:An oil-in-water type emulsified composition prepared by incorporating a system consisting of (A) 0.01-1.5wt% polysaccharide, (B) 0.1-6.0wt% sucrose ester of a fatty acid and (C) 1.0-30.0wt%, expressed in terms of an anhydrous substance, polyhydroxy compound and 3.0-40wt% water with an oily substance or further water. A water-soluble polysaccharide, e.g. polysaccharide produced by microorganisms, seed polysaccharide, resin polysaccharide, seaweed polysaccharide, fruit polysaccharide, etc. is used as the component (A), and a surose ester of the fatty acid having 5.0-16.0 HLB is used as the component (B). An alkylene glycol, glycerol polyalkylene oxide, sugar alcohol, etc. is used as the component (C).
