FLAME-RETARDANT POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION HAVING EXCELLENT MOLDABILITY

PURPOSE:To provide the titled compsn. having excellent moldability at a relatively low temp., consisting of a polyester resin, a reinforcing agent or a filler, a carboxylate salt, a polyalkylene glycol and a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:10-140pts.wt. reinforcing agent or filler such as talc, 0.05- 20pts.wt. Na or K salt of a 7-25C carboxylic acid such as behenic acid or a carboxyl group-contg. polymer such as ethylen/methacrylic acid copolymer, 0.1-10pts.wt. polyalkylene glycol of formula I (wherein R1, R'1 are each H, lower alkyl, R2 is a 2-4C alkylene; n is 5 or greater) and 10-40pts.wt. compd. of formula II (wherein R1, R2 are each a single bond or -O-, -S-, -CH2-, -SO2-, -CH2-S-, a group of formula III or IV; l is 1-6; X is halogen; n is 1-20; m, m' are each 1-4 when n=2-20 and 1-5 when n=1) are blended with 100pts.wt. polyester resin which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.4 or above and wherein at least 80mol% of its structural units are ethylene phthalate units.
