Zusammenfassung:	A plastics light guiding fibre is formed of a monofilamentary transparent core and a sheathing therearound, the core being a polyamide core consisting of or containing an amorphous polyamide produced from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid or an aromatic dicarboxylic acid methyl ester and the sheath being formed of or comprising a fluorine-containing polymer. The polyamide may be a polymer of tere- or isophthalic acid methyl ester and 2,2,4- or 2,4,4-trimethylhexamethylene- diamine.
