EMULSIFIED COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:An oil-in-surface active agent type or oil-in-water type emulsified composition having improved emulsification properties, moisture and water retention properties and feeling, and high safety, obtained by blending an elastic hydrolyzate as an emulsifying agent with a polyhydric alcohol as an emulsification auxiliary. CONSTITUTION:(A) An elastin hydrolyzate having 10,000-100,000 or an aqueous solution containing it is blended with (B) a polyhydric alcohol such as glycerine, etc., and, if necessary, (C) an ionic substance such as dipotassium salt of glycyrrhizic acid, etc. under heating. It is then blended with fats and oils, and, if necessary, an aqueous phase, to give the titled emulsified composition, especially cosmetic. The composition has high safety because the emulsifying agent(component A) is a polypeptide substance having gel forming ability in itself and together with the effects of the component b provides the effect wherein the emulsified system is extremely stable. In blending amounts of the components based on total amounts of the composition, an amount of the component A is 0.001- 10wt%, an amount of the component B is 1-90wt%, and an amount of the component C, 0.1-5wt%.
