PURPOSE:To obtain an oil cake suitable for a feed or fertilizer without forming lumps, by treating a fat or oil with ultrafiltering membranes, and adding the resultant separated and concentrated phospholipid to an oil cake. CONSTITUTION:An apparatus containing ultrafiltering membranes, a pump for sending and circulating a miscella to the ultrafiltering membranes, for feeding a solvent, the miscella or part of the ultrafiltrate to a piping, a tank and joining parts of the rspective ultrafiltering membranes and the piping is used for preparing the aimed oil cake. The miscella is brought inti contact with the respective ultrafiltering membranes in the order under pressure while circulating through the ultrafiltering membranes and the tank, and a phospholipid is concentrated in the circulating liquid which will not pass through the membranes. On the other hand, the miscella after removal of the phospholipid can be obtained as the ultrafiltrate. The solvent and the miscella or the ultrafiltrate are partly sent to the subsequent ultrafiltering membranes in the direction of the miscella flow. Preferably, the miscella temperature is 40-65 deg.C, and the pressure is 5-20kg/cm . The resultant concentrate of the phospholipid at a ratio of 1-5% is directly added to an oil cake.
