Zusammenfassung:	PURPOSE:The titled copolymer capable of providing a molding of high modulus and good flexural and impact strengths, containing specified dicarboxylate units and ethylene terephthalate units as the principal structural units at a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:The titled melt-moldable copolymer contains 25-75mol% (A) ethylene 1,2-bis(2-chlorophenoxy)ethylene-4,4'-dicarboxylate units and 75-25mol% (B) ethylene terephthalate units as principal stuructural components. While polyethylene phthalate has heretofore been widely used in, for example, tire cords in the form of fiber and magnetic tapes in the form of film, and the enhancement of its modulus has been demanded, this demand could not be satisfied. The imparting of a high modulus becomes possible by forming a copolymer containing units A in the above range.
