FLOPPY DISK DEVICE

PURPOSE:To reduce the vertical position variance of a floppy disk especially at its outer circumference by providing a through hole to the inner parts of a rigid disks which revolve at the same angular speed so that it opens opposite to the outer circumference of the floppy disk and the inner circumference of a fixed base. CONSTITUTION:A floppy disk 21 is set to a spindle 22, and the spindle 22 is revolved at a high speed. At the same time, the rigid disks 24 are also revolved at a high speed. As a result, a negative pressure state is produced to the atmospheric pressure between the disk 24 and a fixed base 23 set under the disk 24. This negative pressure state increases toward the center of the disk 24 and becoms maximum at an area A. The said negative pressure state is led up to the outer circumference part B of the disk 24 by means of a through hole 25 connecting the area A and the part B. Then the floppy disk 21 is sucked to the part B of the disk 24. Thus the position variance of the disk 21 is greatly reduced in a high-speed revolution mode, and the positional relation is kept stably between a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic head. This ensures the satisfactory record/reproduction characteristics.
