Zusammenfassung: | PURPOSE:To enable prediction of the generation of breakout with a simple mechanism by connecting a main rod via links to a continuous casting mold, oscillating the mold, attaching a load cell to the main rod and measuring the change in oscillation resistance. CONSTITUTION:Plural links 12, 13 are disposed between a mold support 10 of a mold 1 for continuous casting and a mold oscillating frame 2. The link 13 is extended and a main rod 20 is pivotally fitted to the end of said rod. A load cell 21 is attached to the mid-way of the rod 20 and an outer ring 23 is pivotally fitted to the other end of the rod 20. An eccentric ring 24 is fitted to the ring 23 and the rod 20 is moved back and forth to oscillate the mold 1. When the rupture of a billet 4 arises in the mold 1, the oscillation resistance of the mold 1 is decreased and the output from the cell 21 decreases and therefore the breakout is predicted. The supply of the molten metal is thus limited and the drawing is stopped or decelerated to avert the generation of the breakout. |
