FLUORINE-CONTAINING ELASTOMER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:The titled composition that is obtained by adding a fluorine-containing diol having ether linkages and a vulcanization accelerator to a fluorine-containing elastomer having vinylidene fluoride units, thus showing high heat-aging resistance and compression set and further giving vulcanized products with improved mechanical properties under normal conditions as well as excellent heat- aging resistance and compression set. CONSTITUTION:(A) A fluorine-containing elastomer having vinylidene fluoride units is combined with (B) a fluorine-containing diol having ether linkages, preferably a compound represented by the formula: HOCH2R f(OR f)nOR fCH2OH (R , R f, R f are polyfluoroalkylene of 1-10 carbon atoms; n is 0, 1-5) and (C) a vulcanization accelerator. Further, as the component B, is most preferred a compound of the above formula where R f is formula I (m is 1-5), R f is formula II and R f is formula III, the number of the ether linkages is 1-6 and the ratio of the ether linkages to the number of carbon atom constituting the main chain (of 4 or more carbon atoms) is 1/3-1/8.
