METHOD OF TAKING UP WIRE ROD

PURPOSE:To take up a wire rod efficiently into a coil with a satisfactory type of packing by reducing gradually the rotational frequency of inner poles or the like immediately before the completion of the take-up to lift a floor plate when the rotational frequency is reduced to a required value. CONSTITUTION:This apparatus is constituted from a proper number of inner poles 2 pivotable in a predetermined angle about a pin 1 and arranged on the same circumference, an inner drum 3 disposed on the outer periphery of the inner pole 2 and a floor plate 4 provided vertically movably in the inner drum 3. The rotation of a motor is transmitted to the poles 2, inner drum 3 and floor plate 4 to rotate them through a shaft 5 and bevel gears 6, 7 and take up a wire rod sent from a finish rolling mill between the poles 2 and the inner drum 3. After the completion of taking up the wire rod, a rod of a cylinder unit 8 is extended to lift a stripper shaft 11 through links 9, 10 and lift the floor plate 4 for pushing out the wire rod onto a plate conveyer.
